Got a estimate for materials to treat ceiling and back and front walls of A framechurch. Was getting ready to purchase in near future.

Last week it rained very hard on our seamed metal roof with open rafters, The sound of the rain hitting the roof was very loud as can be expected. Turning up the podium mic only amplified the sound of the rain.

I know that the acoustic treatment is for the PA system, it will not likely deaden the sound of the rain on the roof.

This brings up the question do I need to treat the underside of the roof before installing the acoustic treatment? I don’t want to go through all the labor of installing treatment panels only to pull them down for treatment of the metal roof.

Anyone have experience with this type of issue?
Regards,
Mark

You must minimize the vibrations produced by the rain hitting the metal room. You will have to coat the roof with a material type that will minimize vibrations.
